According to the descriptions on YouTube, the first video is a Google Street View car in Seville, Spain, and the second is one around Palm Springs, California, US. These cars from the Google fleet have a camera mounted on top to photograph the panorama views that are later added to Google Maps. It’s like the first Googlebots spotted in the wild, and perhaps signs of a future to come in which devices of different shapes and functionality roam the streets to collect information (compare with this fiction). UPDATE: Actually, I missed one new city: Kansas City, Missouri which also includes Lawrence, Kansas (favorite town of at least one Googler I know). So, it's actually 7 new cities.] Google has not announced it yet, but there are some new cities with Street View photos available in Google Maps. These new cities are not listed on their list of covered cities: Juneau, Alaska; Boise, Idaho; Salt Lake City, Utah; San Antonio, Texas; Raleigh/Durham/Cary, North Carolina; Manchester, New Hampshire. Some of the new cities (like the Raleigh one) actually cover a large area with multiple towns/cities. Click here to see a map of all the available Street View cities. I'm happy because I live in the Raleigh Area. I've already deduced that my house was photographed by Google's StreetView car around the end of August at about 7 AM.
