There are no fences or gates, making it plain to see that each nation has its own methods for paving and lawn maintenance. Flags of Germany and the European Union are on the right. If you're traveling to Norway through northern Sweden, you may stop at this border crossing -- at least if you have goods to declare. There seems to be an honor system of the type which has been gated at USA borders. Also notice the English on the signs even though it is not an official language of either Norway or Sweden. This view was taken inside Switzerland, just a few feet from the border with Germany (closer than GSV cameras seem to be allowed along USA borders nowadays).
