I-35W bridge prior to the collapse

On August 1, 2007 the I-35W bridge collapsed during rush hour. The bridge was undergoing resurfacing at the time, as it was when Google captured this image. Here is one of the workers, feeling quite safe, just as everybody did that day. If they only knew.

google was also in the area after the collapse....there are shots of the aftermath with media and cops everywhere
