This is one of the still standing Cabrini Green Housing Projects which were controlled and terrorized by gangs, mostly the Gangster Disciples for years. This was featured on A&E's show GANGLAND and in this episode this open grass field was referred to as "the killing field" as gang snipers would sit in the windows and kill just about anyone that passed through. Even police officers. I recommend watching this show for a full grasp on just how cool this post is ;)
